Privacy Policy

RateX · Last updated: June 2026

1. Information We Collect

RateX does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our own servers. The app fetches publicly available exchange rate data from a third-party rates API. No account registration is required to use the app.

2. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

Free users of RateX see one full-screen advertisement per day, served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). Users with an active Premium subscription do not see ads and AdMob is not active for their sessions.

To deliver and optimize advertising, Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect the following data from devices running the free tier of RateX:

Device Identifiers

The advertising identifier (IDFA) and other identifiers associated with the device, the app, or the developer may be collected and used for third-party advertising and analytics purposes.

Approximate Location

IP address may be used to infer an approximate geographic location of the device. Precise location data is never requested or used by the app or by AdMob.

Diagnostics

Crash logs and diagnostic data not directly tied to user actions may be collected for the purpose of diagnosing issues and improving the SDK. This data may also be used for advertising and analytics purposes.

Performance Data

Performance-related data linked to the user (such as app launch time, hang rate, and energy usage) may be collected to assess user behavior and plan new features. Performance data may also be used for advertising, including sharing with other organizations involved in ad delivery.

Advertising Data

Information about advertisements viewed by the user may be collected to operate advertising and analytics features.

User Interactions

Other interactions with the app, such as taps at app launch and engagement events (e.g., video views within an ad), may be collected to improve advertising effectiveness.

How Google Uses This Data

Data collected by Google AdMob may be used for delivering and personalizing advertisements, measuring ad performance and attribution, fraud prevention and security, and analytics and product improvement. This data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. For details on AdMob's data practices as disclosed to Apple, see the AdMob data disclosure.

App Tracking Transparency

RateX requests permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You may allow or deny this request. Denying tracking limits the ability to serve personalized ads but does not affect core app functionality. You can change your tracking preference at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

3. In-App Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID.

4. Local Data Storage

All user preferences (selected currencies, widget configuration, base currency) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
